Best Time to Trek

Spring (March–May): Warm weather, clear skies, blooming rhododendrons.
Autumn (September–November): Cool, stable weather with clear views.

Trekking is also possible in winter (very cold) and summer/monsoon (wet, flight delays), but spring and autumn are the most popular and comfortable.

Permits Required

To do the Everest Base Camp Trek, you need two permits:
1. Sagarmatha National Park Entry Permit
2. Khumbu Pasang Lhamu Rural Municipality Permit

We can easily buy both permits on the way—just make sure to carry your original passport.

How to Get There

  • Most trekkers take a scenic flight from Kathmandu (or Ramechhap during high season)
    to Lukla.
  • Alternatively, if you want to avoid the flight, you can drive from Kathmandu to Surke via Salleri/Phaplu. This takes about 2 days but is a great option for those with more time
    and who prefer overland travel.
