Trekking Route and Itinerary
The Kanchenjunga Base Camps Trek is a challenging journey that typically spans 20-25 days, depending on the chosen route and pace. The trek can be approached from two primary directions: the north and south base camps. Many trekkers choose to combine both, creating a circular route that offers a comprehensive experience.
- Day 1-2:Kathmandu to Taplejung
- Day 3-8:Taplejung to North Base Camp
- Day 9-12:North Base Camp Exploration
- Day 13-18:Ghunsa to South Base Camp
- Day 19-22:Return to Taplejung
Fly from Kathmandu to Bhadrapur and drive to Taplejung.Prepare for the trek and explore the local surroundings.
Trek through lush valleys, dense forests, and traditional villages including the rest and acclimatization day at Ghunsa and side trips around..
Ascend to Kambachen and Lhonak, leading to the North Base Camp.Marvel at the north face of Kanchenjunga and the surrounding peaks.
Cross the Sele La Pass to reach Tseram.Continue to Ramche and Oktang for views of the south face of Kanchenjunga.Descend through Torongding and Yamphudin.
Trek back to Taplejung via traditional villages such as Khebang and Kande Bhanjyang.Drive to Bhadrapur and fly back to Kathmandu.
